Infested Waters

Sometimes life is like living

On the brink of an infested swamp

With crocodiles lurking

In the murky waters

Eyes deathly still

In expectation of your move

Waiting for the kill

We should not live in fear

Of venturing out

But be cautious

And let your primordial compass

Point to the direction

You should take

Give thanks for all you have

And never trade for the unknowing

For what is earned by sweat

Is priceless compared

To gifts and grants

Founded on cunning and vice

Follow your instinct

Live on your winnings

Earned through hard work

And dedication too

Make it the creed of life

To fight your own battles

When confronted with strife

Of the many lessons learned

Remember this

Trust will always be

A lifelong concern.
