Life's Outcomes

She saw the darkened cloud as she hurried along the path. The rain broke at a point where she was unable to seek shelter. She tuned her mind to the way the rain beat her body remorselessly. She felt uncomfortable as it soaked through her clothes. This feeling was replaced by a new warmth that she experienced, radiating inside of her. The internal bodily reaction moved slowly along her neurotransmitters and branched out towards her skin. Warmth suffused her body as though to compensate for the dampness clinging to her outside. She continued walking, although she was not comfortable, she had at least adjusted to the rain.

Emeralda could not help but see the analogy between being caught in the rain and the events that were unravelling in her life. She was caught in certain life situations, which although uncomfortable to her way of living, had to be adjusted to. Her forced retirement from work was not comfortable for her so she had to make adjustments to her lifestyle. Her body metamorphized emotionally and mentally to accommodate these changes. Additionally, she had to slash her budget, to reduce her expenditure, to fit an even greater modest lifestyle.

Emeralda learnt that when persons try to manipulate your situation to bring about your demise, you have to be that reckoning force to avert the intended outcome. She is determined to be that agent responsible for making decisions which will determine the outcome of her life. Despite life's obstacles she intends to keep on walking!
