We make great plans

That are infallible in our minds

So why then do we fail

Is this an admission of our impotence

In this great Universe

That treats all men the same

It sometimes plays us

As useless pawns in a game

And although an inspiration

It takes without warning

Then in temporal banter

Destitute becomes gentry

While the wealthy become indigent

In a show of indifference

It looks on

As man destroys himself

When unable to cope

But thanks to the Creator

Who knows us best

And gives us gifts

For our survival

Resilience he gives

To rise from dispiritedness

And discern the plans

For which he has made us

Resourcefulness to change

What has failed us

And understanding

To accept his greatest gift

The life he has given us

Life he has taught us

Should never be foreclosed

So shuffle if you must

To attain what you seek

Just remember in all you do

That yielding to failure

Is not an option for you
