Ode To My Love

Each thud hurts

With the beat against taut muscle

Is there a cure for this dulling pain

Which every day with little provocation

Makes me suffer

As longings flow forward

Then recede with the tide

It left a pattern that marks

The yearnings of my soul

I weep for a love that touches

Whilst it may never be touched

I weep for moments of despair

I weep for longings that know no relief

I weep for all that love can be but have never been

I weep in loneliness

Although my hope continues to believe

That one day my love will be embodied

In the heart of my eternal mate

I dream that together we will walk

With arms securely linked

In the liberty of two

Who have found peace

Each drop of tear shed

Contains emotions deep

Vying for this heart

Which for you was molded

I feel the supple warmth enflamed

With thoughts of you

And crossed my thumping muscle

To soothe the quivering ache

The fundamental meaning of life I learned

Is that for two hearts in love

To forever become one.
