Summer's Solstice

I never knew someone could disarm another

The way you took my armour away

Which left me safe

In the band of your strength

Your eyes, confidence in me instilled

While pride in you, your manner imbibed

The beating of your heart

Stirred a vow in me

That yours I will forever be

Yesterday's actions are past

Today, my love for you I live

A love that will always in the present be

Each breath I take

Is a reminder

Of two hearts that will never part

Every day I feel the pulsation

And know no matter how far apart

Our love was always meant to be
