Who Is This Woman?

Who still loves

Even when told

She was damaged goods

She feels sorry for that man

Who will never understand

The language of her heart

In diction rich and comforting

For the soul she seeks

Who still cares

She survived a life

Meant to put out her light

But through determination

She kept that flame alive

Who has beauty

Like the plant that thrive

In soil hard and dry

And produces flowers

That beautify the soul

Who has such poise and grace

One who uses her resourcefulness

To make decisions

That challenges her

To go on living

A woman who heard checkmate

But did not stop at that game

But kept on playing

She took her chances

And counted her winnings

That is she!
